Signing In to the Cato Client

The Cato Client is installed on a users device to provide remote access to your network. This article explains how users sign in to the Cato Client to connect to your network.

Note

Note: The Client sign in process described in this article is being gradually rolled out from July 14, 2024.

Overview

The Cato Client is proprietary software that authenticates and identifies remote users, grants access, and inspects traffic based on security policies. A user must be created in the Cato Management Application and signed in to the Cato Client to benefit from these features. Users can sign in to the Client with their configured authentication method and remain signed in for the duration of the token validity period. For more information, see Configuring the Authentication Policy for Cato Clients.

To sign in with an email address and password (and optional MFA), users create their password during the sign in process. To sign in with SSO, the Client displays a browser (either in the Client or an external browser) so the user can enter their IdP login credentials.
