Experience Monitoring in the Cato Client

Overview

The Cato Client includes a capability that detects poor Wi-Fi signal strength directly on the endpoint. The Client displays a notification when the Wi-Fi signal strength is poor. The notification is triggered locally on the device and does not depend on connectivity to the Cato Cloud. It applies whether users are connected remotely or working from behind a Site.

By identifying Wi-Fi issues at the source, this capability helps users quickly understand connectivity problems, reduces unnecessary troubleshooting, and improves the overall user experience.

No DEM license is required for the notification to be displayed.

Prerequisites

  • Supported on Client versions:

    • Windows v6.0 and higher

Understanding the Poor Wi-Fi Notification

If the Client has a Wi-Fi connection of -75 dBm or lower, a notification is displayed in the Client that explains that this could be the reason for slow Client performance.
