New Features & Enhancements

  • New Field for Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) Events: For events generated by IPS (event sub type is IPS), there is a new risk level field that indicates the overall impact of this threat for the host or network. The Cato Security team determines the risk level for each threat based on several factors. Read more
    • Risk level low – minimal risk for network, such as adware 
    • Risk level medium – medium risk for the network, such as network scans 
    • Risk level high – significant risk for network, such as spyware or worms 
  • Enhanced Search for Firewall and Network Rules: The search feature for the network rules and the WAN and Internet firewalls now is includes all objects.

Cato Client Releases

  • Windows VPN Client: The newest Windows Client (v. 4.2.11.377) is now available to download from the Cato User Portal (https://myvpn.catonetworks.com/login). This version improves how the Cato Client handles the host DNS settings.
    • All Windows VPN users will receive a notification to update their Client on the week of Feb. 17.  

PoP Announcements

  • Johannesburg, South Africa: An enhanced PoP is to shortly be made available in Johannesburg, and completely integrating it into the Cato Networks ASN. 
  • Melbourne, Australia: An enhanced PoP is to shortly be made available in Melbourne, and completely integrating it into the Cato Networks ASN. 
  • Detroit (Michigan), USA: A new Cato PoP will shortly become available in Detroit.
