Product Update - October 19th, 2020

New Features & Enhancements

  • LAN Link Aggregation: Link Aggregation (LAG) lets you combine up to four physical Socket LAN ports into one single logical bundle. Read more.
    • Supported for Socket version 9.1 and higher (not supported for vSockets). Socket 9.1 will be gradually deployed over the next few weeks.
  • Enhancement to WAN and Internet Firewalls: We added the ability to define the protocol and port number directly in a firewall rule. For example, define a rule to block TCP traffic on port 80.
  • Enhancements to Socket High Availability Status: The Socket High Availability status now shows Ready after verifying these tests: WAN connectivity to the Cato Cloud, keepalive messages, and identical Socket versions. Read more.
  • Update to API Schema: The schema for the Cato API is updated to include new API Calls. The new updated version of the schema has no impact on accounts that continue to use previous versions. Read more.
    The new version includes:
    • accountMetrics/accountSnapshot > Sites > SiteInfo - added region and countryName
    • accountSnapshot > Sites > Devices > Interfaces - updated tunnelRemoteIPInfo, recentConnections
    • accountSnapshot > users - added VPN users information and metrics

Cato Client Releases

  • End of Support for Windows 7: Starting on January 1, 2021, Cato will no longer support Windows 7 platforms, and we are asking our customers to upgrade their platforms before then. After January 1, we can’t guarantee the connectivity, performance, or supportability for Clients on Windows 7 platforms.
  • Windows VPN Client version 4.5: The Windows VPN Client v4.5 is now available on the MyVPN portal, and will be gradually deployed to all users during the week of Oct. 25. This version includes:
    • Bug fix for Active Directory User and Computers (ADUC)
      • To enable this fix for your account, contact Support
    • New configuration to block IPv6 traffic
      • Contact Support to enable this feature

  • Charlotte, (North Carolina) USA: A new Cato PoP is now available in Charlotte.
  • Taipei, Taiwan: A new Cato PoP will shortly become available in Taipei.

    Updated Windows Client v. 4.5 to include that you need to contact Support to enable the ADUC bug fix.
