Using the Upgraded CMA Admin Experience (May 2026)

Overview

Starting May 2026, Cato is rolling out a new admin experience in the Cato Management Application (CMA) to help admins work more efficiently. The updated experience makes it easier to focus on the CMA areas that are most relevant to your organization’s requirements.

You can filter the CMA by use case, instead of navigating through all available CMA pages. This makes it easier and faster to find the pages you need. For example, security admins can focus on pages related to Internet Security or AI Security, while networking teams can focus on connectivity, sites, apps, and users.

The upgraded experience also introduces a left navigation menu. This provides a more consistent navigation experience and gives you quicker access to CMA pages.

There is no impact on:

  • Existing RBAC settings for your account - The use case filter only changes navigation visibility. It does not grant or remove access to pages, features, or data

  • URLs or bookmarks - There is no change to links to any CMA page

Enabling the Upgraded Admin Experience

For a limited time, the upgraded admin experience is disabled by default. You can enable it with the New Navigation toggle in the top navigation bar and switch back at any time. Your selected use case is saved between sessions using local browser storage and applies only to your user.

Understanding the CMA Use Cases

The Use Case filter is located in the top navigation bar of the CMA:

The use cases are:

  • Full SASE: Shows all Cato pages and features. Use this view when you want access to the complete CMA experience
  • Secure Access: Access private and SaaS apps securely from anywhere. Use this view to focus on secure user access and application connectivity
  • Internet Security: Protect users from web and internet threats. Use this view to focus on security policies, threat prevention, and internet access controls
  • Advanced Networking: Connect sites, apps, and users reliably. Use this view to focus on network connectivity, routing, and infrastructure operations
  • AI Security: Use AI safely and protect sensitive data. Use this view to focus on AI usage controls, data protection, and sensitive information risks

Applying the Use Case Filter

Applying the use case filter only shows the CMA pages relevant to the chosen use case. All other CMA pages are filtered out. Your selected use case applies each time you log into the CMA until it is cleared or changed.

Pages that are filtered out can still be accessed by using the search, account menu, or direct links.

To apply the use case filter:

  1. Open the use case drop-down menu.
  2. Select the use case(s) for you.
  3. Click Done.
The CMA only displays the pages relevant to your use case.
  4. To view all CMA pages, or search for a page, click All to open the Account Menu
