Configuring SDP Client Settings for the Account

Overview of Global Settings for Users

Cato Networks provides SDP Clients that connect to the Cato Cloud with a VPN for several operating systems:

  • Windows

  • macOS

  • Android (also supported for ChromeOS)

  • iOS

  • Linux

Cato Clients and the Cato Certificate

When you install the Cato Client on a host or mobile device, the Cato certificate is automatically installed as a root CA (certificate authority). You only need to manually install the certificate on hosts without the Cato Client.

Configuring VPN IP Ranges

You can set up your network's own IP address range for users, which prevents situations where a network entity's configured IP address collides with the default VPN IP address range. Cato Networks supports changing the first two octets of the IP address. Cato Networks supports IP addresses with a CIDR block of /16 to /24.

Note: Best practice is to configure the largest Client IP range possible to decrease the chances of an IP conflict that causes the Client to disconnect.

To configure a VPN IP range:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Access > IP Allocation Policy.

  2. Expand the IP Range section.

  3. In Dynamic IP section, enter the IP range for the Clients.

  4. Click Save.

Configuring the Contact Support Policy

Note: This feature is available for Windows and macOS Clients only.

You can display your organization's contact Support details on the Client used by your users.

To display the contact Support details on the Client:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Access > Client Access.

  2. Expand the Contact Support Policy section.

  3. Select Show "Contact Support" button in VPN application.

  4. Enter the contact information for your company.

The right-hand side shows an example of the contact information in the Client.

  5. Click Save.
