Introducing the New Cato Management Application

New Experience for the Cato Management Application: The new Cato Management Application is completely redesigned from the ground up, and is faster, streamlined, and easier to use than ever! The new experience is now available for all Cato admins. To help with your transition, you can still access the legacy Cato Management Application in a single click. Here are some highlights of the new experience:

- Application Analytics - provides deep insight to app usage in your organization
- Threats Dashboard - helps you easily identify malware attacks and unsafe/unusual behavior in your network
- Cloud Apps Catalog - contains detailed information and individual risk score for thousands of cloud based apps
- New admin role - regional viewer that can only access specific sites and data
- New design helps admins easily configure objects and rulebases
- Faster than ever - we greatly improved the time it takes for screens to update and show data

New Features & Enhancements

Increased Control for User Management with LDAP Sync: We are now adding the option to limit the number of users that are automatically deleted as part of LDAP sync. Read more.
- When you enable this feature, define the maximum number of users that can be deleted per LDAP sync. Otherwise, the sync fails and an event is generated.

Changes to Data and Analytics in Cato Management Application: Starting on December 12th 2021, new usage data and analytics will only be available in the new Cato Management Application.
- For the previous Cato Management Application, all data from before December 12th will continue to be available
- For the new Cato Management Application, all new data is available (and also data for the previous three months)

- Topology (Top Applications section)
- Analytics > Sites > Usage
- Analytics > Sites > Hosts
- Analytics > VPN Users
- Analytics > Apps

- Analytics > Categories
- Enhancement to Intelligent Last Mile Monitoring (ILMM) Service: Starting in Jan. 2022, we will send a new monthly ILMM service report to all ILMM customers. The report includes the service status of the last-mile ISP links, incidents report, and more.
Cato SDP Client Releases

Windows Client v5.1: Beginning on Dec. 12th, we are planning to start the gradual release of the Windows Client version 5.1. This version includes:
- New infrastructure for the in-Client browser which provides increased performance and security
- Performance enhancements and bug fixes
Security Updates
- IPS Protections Updated for Apache Log4J RCE: On Dec. 9th, 2021, a major vulnerability in the Java logging library Apache Log4j 2 in versions from 2.0-beta9 to 2.14.1 was identified. As of Dec. 11, 2021, a new global blocking rule was deployed for the IPS engine and protects all Cato customers using the IPS service. Read more.
