Important Updates for Legacy Client and Windows Versions

Cato is announcing important End of Life (EoL) updates that impact Client connectivity from November 1st, 2023:

  • End of Life for all Client versions below 5.0
  • End of Support for Windows version 8.1 and below

Earlier this year, Cato announced the End of Support (EoS) for Client versions earlier than v5.0 (Windows and macOS, Linux, IOS and Android). Starting from November 1st, 2023, all Client versions earlier than 5.0 will no longer be able to connect to the network.

To continue to use the Cato Client, and receive the latest features and enhancements, upgrade to the newest version. For more information on the newest Client versions, see Summary of Client Releases

Use the SDP Users Dashboard to identify which Client versions are used in your account.

Note: Windows Clients above v5.0 aren’t supported on Windows OS version 8.1 and below. If you have devices running these legacy Windows OS versions, upgrade the device to the newest OS version and then upgrade the Cato Client. For a list of supported versions, see here.

What is the Impact to My Account?

After November 1st, 2023:

  • If you have devices with Client versions earlier than version 5.0, the Client will not connect to the network.
To ensure your users can access the network, upgrade the Clients in your account to the newest version before November 1st, 2023. For more information on the newest Client versions, see Summary of Client Releases

  • If you have devices running Windows OS version 8.1 or earlier, no Client version will connect to the network from this device.
To ensure that your users can access the network, upgrade Windows to a supported OS version. For a list of supported versions, see here. After your devices are running a supported version of Windows OS, update the Cato Client.

Where Can I Download the Newest Client Version?
